Hi,
I'm Christine. I've been a music educator since 1989. I fell
in love with music at age 3 after seeing our church choir
practice Handel's Messiah. I sang along, and haven't stopped
making and sharing music since.
New
Mozart began in 1989 as Christine Eunmi Shin Piano Studio.
It was renamed to New Mozart School of Music in March of
2004 when we moved out of my livingroom to our first location
on University Avenue. What began as a personal dream of
spreading the joy of music with the greater community of
Peninsula is now a shared dream of over 20 teachers and
500 students. I feel truly blessed that New Mozart has made
a difference in the lives of thousands of children, teens,
and adults over the years.
Now
in our 12th year in Palo Alto, we continue to serve a diverse
community of musicians here. Our youngest student is not yet
2 and our oldest student is in his 70s. We have students studying
popular music, classical music, rock music, jazz music,...
actually all types of music. This is exactly the kind of place
I had envisioned - a place for budding AND professional musicians
creating music and being inspired by the poetry of music.
While
you're here, I invite you to explore our website and blog.
You can see videos & photos of our amazing faculty members
and students perform at various recitals. And, of course,
there's a wealth of information about the wonderful programs
we offer at New Mozart.
Thanks for
visiting us here and I look forward to meeting you in person.
