
Christine's
teaching career began when she established her private studio in
1989. Over the years, she has prepared her students for Certificate
of Merit exams, Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music exams,
and National Guild Piano Auditions where they received high marks
from the jury. Her students have also entered in various competitions
and received scholarships. Christine's musical lineage can be traced
back to Busoni, Brahms, Beethoven and Hayden. Her inspiration comes
from many of her great teachers and consequently she is committed
to passing on the great tradition of music making.
New
Mozart is the culmination of her dream of making excellent teachers
available to students of all ages and levels. She has carefully
selected a group of dedicated and talented musicians from around
the world who bring with them the enthusiam, and love of music to
our students in the Peninsula.
Christine
received a bachelor's degree in piano performance and a minor in
vocal performance from San Jose State University. She has additionally
studied Orff at the Mozarteum in Salzburg Austria, Dalcroze at the
Juilliard School of Music in New York, and piano pedagogy at the
Eastman School of Music. She has been a music educator for 27 years.
Many eminent pianists in Europe and USA have shaped her as a pianist
and pedagogue. Her primary teachers include: Alfred Kanwischer,
Jonathan Bass, and Marina Grin. She studied voice with Raymond Nielsson
and Joseph Frank. In Europe, Christine studied with Martyn Van den
Hoek, Marjes Benoist, Volker Banfield, and Grigory Gruzman. She
has been featured as a soloist with the University Choir at SJSU
and has performed in the San Francisco Bay Area, South Korea, and
in Austria.
Christine
and New Mozart School of Music have received the honor of being
featured in the Metro Newspaper as well as the Washington Square
Magazine (SJSU's alumni magazine).
Christine
has served as an adjucator for the National Guild of Piano Auditions
and is chair of the Palo Alto branch of the National Guild of Piano
Teachers.
